Our client is a leading global manufacturer & supplier of specialist products to the underground coal & metalliferous mining sectors. An exciting career opportunity has become available for a Purchasing / Supply Professional to join the Australian Mining Business Unit in Newcastle.

 

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the principle requirements of the role include:

  • Strong communication (both written and verbal) and negotiation skills with suppliers, agencies and relevant stakeholders,
  • The ability to plan and organise activities
  • Analytical skills
  • Problem solving skills

Ideally, you will have qualifications relating to procurement/supply, as well as several years experience in Supply Chain, including experience in a buying role. Experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment will be highly regarded. You will be highly computer literate and competent in the use of integrated computerised purchasing systems.
