Our client is a market leader in their industry. They are currently looking for a Group Sales Manager to join their national leadership team and take control of the sales strategy and provide leadership, direction and motivation to the sales team.

This is a national role, we are looking to find an exceptional leader who can gain the respect and harness the capabilities of their team. Through effective alignment the successful person will drive performance and growth without compromising on the regional commitment to excellence and integrity. The individual will need to be a ‘Champion’ for the national team, someone that they can look to for support and to inspire and drive them for continual improvement. There are a number of managers in the team, so a history of ‘managing managers’ will be required as well. There are strong and successful processes in place within the team, and a lot of your time will be spent training and up skilling the team. They will also need to have very strong business acumen, with a history of orchestrating and implementing innovative solutions to drive the business forward and achieve growth.

As well as nurturing and mentoring their national team, this individual will also need to perform the ‘day to day’ tasks. They will have a ‘hands on’ approach to business fostering a mind-set of continuous improvement amongst the team. A key skill potential candidates will need is an understanding of contract law. Due to the nature of the work with some corporate clients, a level of comfort with review dates, clause changes and renegotiations will be necessary. There is a compliance officer that is there from a legal standpoint but a basic knowledge is fundamental to the role.

Relevant tertiary qualifications will be looked upon favourably. More important is having related sales management experience, preferably from within the financial services industry, but exceptional sales managers from outside will be considered.
