As the Exploration Manager for the Asia Pacific region you will focus on developing strategies to maximise the development of exploration tenements into iron ore development projects.
You will manage and technically direct field exploration programs and field personnel to ensure achievement of the Resource Development department's objectives.
Key accountabilities & responsibilities of this role include:
* Providing energetic and strong leadership for the site exploration team and providing hands on support through the mentoring and coaching of team members * Management of Company tenements and Joint Ventures ensuring tenements are maintained in accordance with the various State Mines Acts and agreements governing joint venture projects * Planning for strategic competitor tenure which includes identifying opportunities for Joint Ventures * Managing exploration staff, contractors and consultants to ensure work is completed safely, on time and in alignment with Company policies and procedures * Planning, scheduling and budgeting of the exploration plan and completion of relevant reports * Overseeing tenement requirements and meeting specific deadlines for statutory reporting * Overseeing the exploration operations to ensure they are undertaken to plan and in accordance with legislation Actively liaise with landowners and cultural groups * Maintaining all tenements in good standing, with government regulatory bodies and any other external parties * Establishing standards and processes for all geological and quality testing * Developing and maintaining geological records of all identified exploration targets and assets * Providing assistance with the compilation of resource reports to JORC and US-SEC Industry Guide 7 standards * Coordination of the production of reports on each target to satisfy feasibility report deliverables * Overseeing the testing of programs to the project schedule and budget requirements * Completing legal and statutory reporting requirements
The successful candidate will possess the following:
* Extensive experience in an exploration environment * Strong leadership skills with the ability to set clear and structured expectations and hold all external parties accountable for the scopes of work * The ability to manage budgets diligently and make every decision as to optimise the return on every dollar * The capability to review, change and flexibly manage plans subject to the needs of the business * A strong geological and geophysical skill base * Extensive knowledge in project management, planning and budget preparation * Strong quality process understanding * Effective organisational and team leadership skills * Advanced computer literacy * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
