Mining Engineers - Mackay based

We currently have exciting opportunities for an experienced Senior Mining Engineer and Mining Engineers with significant experience in the mining industry, to be based in Mackay Regional Head Office.

Both positions will involve site work and report directly to the Project Support Managers who will provide you with a tremendous opportunity to develop your leadership skills for future roles.

Senior Mining Engineer

The work will involve supervision of a small team of highly skilled professional mining engineers and will also require close liaison with our corporate mine planning team. You will also maintain a high level of independence and practical support for our projects. Other responsibilities will be:

• Provide short term mine planning services and technical support for the Northern Region mining operations including mine plan options and optimisation.

• Undertake analysis of mining and planning functions to determine priorities for continuous improvement and innovation.

• Provide competent and professional governance to ensure established mine planning processes are adhered to.

Mining Engineer

You will be responsible for the generation and communication of short term schedules to operations in accordance with the client's production schedule, HSE, quality and cost targets. This role will also include:

• Reconciling works completed and monitoring compliance to the contract and assists in developing budgets forecasts and to generate reports.

• Lead mine planning and scheduling with a high knowledge of related software - XPAC

• Analysing dumping options to optimise pit haulage and providing operational staff with mine plans.

Relevant tertiary qualifications are essential with extensive experience in Open Cut Mining. Previous contract management experience is desired. Solid communication and problem solving skills with a commitment to health, safety and the environment are essential for these positions.
