As the Infrastructure Engineer you will be responsible for the design, configuration and support of VMware-based virtualization solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and assessing technical architecture, design and framework.
- Developing technical specifications and documentation, including technology specific data models to support application needs.
- Perform application development and testing of components, modifications, and overall systems in addition to application tuning, problem analysis and resolution.
- Develop and implement training and documentation for applications.
- Assist in task planning, estimation, scheduling.
- Contribute to the overall software development lifecycle including requirements gathering / analysis, design, development technologies, release / version control, testing and deployment.
As the Infrastructure Engineer you will have had experience in:
- Detailed knowledge of VMware and its components (e.g., View Manager, Site Recovery Manager, VMotion, etc.).
- Experience with designing and administering SAN solutions using technologies such as NetApp, EMC, or 3PAR.
- CA Spectrum and eHealth, event tuning and suppression within CA Spectrum
- Strong Network Management foundations to include design, implementation and tuning foundation
- Demonstrated systems engineering experience designing, building, implementing and transitioning new capabilities and systems
- Demonstrated experience with log management systems (e.g Splunk)
- Experience with Security Information and event management tools
- Experience in SQL reporting services development and administration
- Solid engineering design principles
- HPOV/ HPBAC administration and management experience is desirable along with experience in Microsoft Operations Management
- Thorough understanding of management protocols (such as SNMP), mechanisms, integration of management systems utilizing industry standard protocols
