This role is as a support Engineer who supports the day to day operations of the QualityStage related activities. This role will require the person to be highly proficient in the related BI technologies, their relationships to the business and the methodologies employed to ensure stability. It is required that the person takes ownership of all escalated issues from team members and sees them through to completion or resolution. The person will be expected to draw on their industry experience to ensure systems are operated and supported in manner which will be operationally sound and in keeping with industry best practice.
Your role will include the following responsibilities: - Maintain the day to day operational stability of the network and it's tools
- Collaborate with ES Solution Design to develop recommendations around service enhancement
- Take ownership of QualityStage issues in the designated team
- Provide operational subject matter expertise in the allocated disciplines
- Deliver high quality technical documentation
- Contribute to the development of team members
- Document and help facilitate knowledge sharing
- Responsible for ensuring SLAs and SLOs are met for systems within the allocated portfolio
- Manage the execution of BCP and DR tests and processes as required
- Contribute to regular audits of assets and configurations and service performance
- Identify, communicate and initiate resolutions to known operational problems
- Continuously look for opportunities to improve the day-to-day operational environment
- Manage, maintain and develop the QualityStage management capability
- Manage and deliver processes and procedures to improve the stability of the Loads
- Identify, manage, improve and automate housekeeping activities
- Contribute to the management and development of the Loads services group as a whole
- Assist other teams within Loads services where necessary
You should have the following skills and experience: - Solid experience as a QualityStage/Datastage Engineer in the finance sector
- Experience configuring and supporting complex ETL/Data Quality solutions
- Experience working in a high pressure environment operating to strict deadlines
- Excellent design and needs analysis skills
- Highly Team focussed and proactive
- Experience working with and managing third party vendors
