Unique opportunity for a Protection & Design Engineer to work for a major electricity distributor.
This role requires an individual who is comfortable working under pressure and to strict deadlines. Among your day to day duties are solving complex engineering projects from concept and bid phase, through to design implementation, including detailed planning, budgeting and scheduling, technical specifications, design and design reviews. A key part of your role will be to manage client expectations and report on the project design process.
You will be required to work closely with other Design Engineers, as well as provide high level technical engineering advice to the Business.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Undertake key engineering projects including design, construction and commissioning, project development and client liaison
Interpret and apply design standards
Support troubleshooting and provide resolutions for issues that may not have prior application of engineering principles and practices
Work proactively with a diverse team of professional engineers and technical staff on a number of delivery projects
Oversee staff and review work delegated to other engineers for accuracy and adherence to required standards
Develop strong networks and relationships with key customers, consultants, contractors, suppliers and planning authorities for the purpose of delivering engineering projects
Develop and adhere to budgets and schedules for assigned projects, within requirements of contracts and oversee the engineering budget to mitigate risks
Ensure projects are delivered in a timely and cost effective manner
Maintain a detailed knowledge of relevant engineering legislation, codes and policies and ensure that all engineering work adheres to regulation and requirements
